Why can't I upload files to my account's Shared with Me folder?

When you install Zoho Docs Sync on your desktop, all the files and folders in your Zoho Docs account will be made available in the sync folder. (If you have enabled selective syncing, only those files and folders that you have chosen to sync will be available in the sync folder.) All the files and folders that have been shared with you can be found in Zoho Docs > Shared with Me.

The Shared with Me folder contains all the files and folders that have been shared with you by other users. The actions you can perform on these files—reading, editing, or modifying any of the individual files in this folder—will be determined by the permission level set for each file, i.e., read-only, read/write, co-owner. However, unlike other folders, you will not be able to directly add any files or folders here. Although you will be able to perform this action in your sync folder, it will not be synced in the web. If you try to upload a file into the Shared with Me folder, the following error message will appear:

You can't add files directly into Shared with Me. You may upload the file(s) to one of your personal folders and share it with others using the web application.

As an alternative to this problem, you can upload the file to your personal folder and share it through the web application with other users. You can also upload it to a shared folder in which the required users are already added, provided you have read/write or co-owner permission for the folder.
