You can have two types of files in Zoho Docs: files in Zoho Docs format (.zdoc, .zsheet, .zshow), and files in other formats (e.g., docx, pdf, etc.). During sync, files in Zoho Docs format (.zdoc, .zsheet, .zshow) will be downloaded as links or shortcuts. Files in other formats will be downloaded to your computer in their current format. You can also easily upload files in other formats to Zoho Docs.
On the other hand, as Zoho Docs is an online web application, you will not be able to add a Zoho Docs format file (.zdoc, .zsheet, .zshow) to your sync folder and upload it to the web. Files in Zoho Docs format can only be created in the web application. If you try to add a Zoho Docs format file to your sync folder, the following error message will appear.
You can't upload this file, because it doesn't have a valid link generated from your Zoho Docs account. Please delete this file as it will no longer be synced.
Because this file can no longer be synced, it can be deleted.
